The new Museum of Richmond Young Curators Group has been launched by curator Natascha Wintersinger, working with Sixth Form students from schools including Christ’s School, Waldegrave School, and Tiffin Girls School.
The initiative will allow local students to gain experience and develop skills working with museum collections and audiences. It is also an opportunity for the museum to learn from the insights and perspectives of enthusiastic and creative young adults.
First World War film-makers
The first project the young curators are working on is to develop short animated films based on material from the museum’s First World War collections. This exciting new way of looking at material was used to great effect by young people working with the Imperial War Museum.
We are looking forward to the ideas our young curators will develop to reveal the stories behind the Museum of Richmond material. The completed films will be showcased in the museum as well as being published online.
